Welcome To The Priory
A boutique guest house in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales
Sitting on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, The Priory in Middleham is a magnificent building dating back to the 17th century and beyond. Built on the site of the original priory it boasts a 1920’s folly wall constructed in part from the old priory’s stone. Full of charm and character, there is a quirky mix of antiques and contemporary pieces providing a luxurious setting in a historical building. Ideal for a romantic escape, walking & sightseeing adventures, house Parties or a visit to the many racecourses in the area. We are both dog and child friendly.
Our refurbished boutique rooms aren’t just a place to sleep, but a place to enjoy and indulge yourself. Roll top baths, vaulted ceilings, freestanding copper baths, stunning bathroom fittings, walk in showers, fluffy towels and bathrobes, Cole and Lewis toiletries are just some of the features we’ve meticulously chosen with the help from a local architect and interior design company.
You have full use of the guest drawing room overlooking Middleham Castle, home to King Richard III dating back 1000 years. Put your feet up, choose from a bookcase of books, take in a film or put on some music.
You can sit and enjoy our garden and courtyard at the back of The Priory through the wrought iron gates. In the morning indulge yourself with our renowned breakfast, from full English to continental and selections of fruits, all at your own leisurely pace. Superb local produce will not disappoint.
Middleham is ideally positioned for exploring the Dales, both by car or on foot. But why leave? There are no less than four welcoming local pubs on the tiny marketplace all serving food of different styles.
Sarah, Chris and the team are here to help you with everything you need and look forward to welcoming you.
